Rules

Notice: Any submission that violates one of the rules below will be automatically disqualified and notified.
Here are the cash prizes according to ranking positions:
1st place: $300
2nd place: $200
3rd place: $100

All winners photos will be displayed on the Photo Club's home page for next year's competition.

• Submission

  You may submit up to three photos per individual participant. You may submit it through the submission form on this website or through one of the social media accounts or through an email. Please make sure your name and contact info are included.

• NSFW NOT ALLOWED

  Any photo submission that falls under the NSFW category will be automatically disqualified and banned from entering this competition in the future.

• Vote!

  Make sure you head to the Voting Page to vote for your favorite top three photos. There are limited categories to vote from, and you are only allowed three votes in total (i.e, one vote per category).

• Categories and themes

  You may submit a photo under any topic, but we have a few suggestions if you have a hard time choosing. We have chosen Sunset, Favorite Food, and Nostalgia as the topics for this year's themes.

• Creativity

  Taking photos is an art, and you should put meaning behind every moment you want to frame. Put your best effort into capturing a meaningful moment for you.

• Deadline

  The submission window is open from January 21st to August 30th.

Category info:

• Sunset

  Sunset photography captures the end of a busy day and the beautiful scenery the sky and clouds create during the golden hour. This category includes the sunsetting on beaches, mountains, the city, the farm, and almost anywhere you can see the sun setting below the horizon. You may also include other objects or people in the photo to create a dynamic image or help guide the viewers attention. The main purpose of this is to capture the sun, the different colors, and lighting. You should aim to capture the mood of the day ending and transitioning into a peaceful evening viewers can connect with.

• Favorite Food

  Food photography captures culture, sharing, and the different kinds of tasty cuisine people enjoy around the world. We all have been that person in the restaurant, taking photos of all the meals on the table before letting anyone touch it. This category includes any type of food worthy of a photo, whether it's a homemade dish, a restaurant made dish, or even the process of preparing food. The purpose of this category is to show appreciation for the diverse foods and culture bringing people together. It could just be sharing the best meal you have ever had and capturing that experience.

• Nostalgia

  Nostalgia photography, or photography about nostalgic moments, captures old places, things, or people that bring back meaningful memories from the past. These photos often remind us of moments that made us happy and shaped who we are today. This category may include places you often visited in your childhood, old toys or video game consoles, a person who inspired you, places like your old hometown or neighborhood, etc. The purpose of this category is to capture images that tell a story and share nostalgic moments that bring back the good old days, connecting with the viewer, or help people reflect on their experiences and appreciate the journey that has brought them to where they are today.

• Freeform

  We don't like to limit your creative mind, so we always include a "freeform" category to allow you to express your full creative freedom. If none of the previous categories are inspiring enough, you may enter any type of photography that expresses your creativity in a unique way. Please remember that your submission should not break the rules listed above in order to qualify. From past submissions we have seen people go beyond what we expect and show such creativity in their skills of photography.
